The Regional Water Supply Company is a regional business unit dedicated to supplying and distributing clean water to the general public. PDAMs exist in all provinces, districts and municipalities of Indonesia. The PDAM is monitored by the executive and regional legislators.

This water supply company (PAM) exists since the Dutch colonial era in the 1920s under the name Waterleiding. During the Japanese colonial era, the name was changed to Suido Syo. Now the drinking water supplier is run by the state under the permanent name PDAM modern.
